On Tuesday night (27), a barbaric crime shocked the residents of Jacobina , in central-north Bahia. Danilo de Jesus , 40, was stoned to death by four suspects after trying to defend his nephew in a bar fight . The crime took place on Rua A, in the Mutirão Novo neighborhood.

According to witnesses, after the confrontation at the bar, Danilo was chased and brutally attacked with stones and bricks. The authorities were called, but upon arriving at the scene, the military police of the 24th CIPM found the victim already dead.

The 1st Territorial Police Station (DT/Jacobina) assumed responsibility for investigating the case. The authorship and motivation of the crime are still unknown. The expertise was carried out by the Technical Police Department (DPT), which proceeded with the removal of the body.

This incident once again highlights the issue of violence and impunity that plagues the country. Danilo de Jesus' family is now searching for justice and answers about the brutality that resulted in the loss of their loved one. Meanwhile, the community of Jacobina is waiting for more effective actions for the safety of the Mutirão Novo neighborhood.
