The body of a man identified as Odair Raash, aged 46, was found in the Guaporé River on Monday (1st). The victim was on a vessel transporting cattle when he disappeared for around three days.
Odair, better known as "Polaquinho Taxista", is a resident of the district of São Domingos in Costa Marques (RO) . When he disappeared, he was traveling along the river transporting cattle between the city of Guajará-Mirim and Costa Marques.
On the boat, there was a councilor, owner of the animals, as well as other people. No one could say how or when the victim fell into the river.
The victim's body was found by members of the public on the Guaporé River, 35 km from Costa Marques. It was badly damaged, possibly from bites from piranha and other animals. Identification was only possible due to the clothes he wore.
The police are investigating whether the vessel's crew were drinking alcohol. Witnesses must still be interviewed by the police.
