JOHOR BAHRU: The Johor Police will conduct an investigation into the allegations of a police station chief committing violence against the public, such as a video that went viral on social media.
Johor Police Chief Kamarul Zaman Mamat said his party detected the 37-second video through the X site at 3.11pm yesterday (Jan 12), which also quoted the name of the police officer and his position.
"The police will investigate this matter in detail and urge members of the public or witnesses to come forward and make a report if they have any information to assist the investigation," he said in a statement.
He insisted that his side will not compromise and will take appropriate legal action.
Earlier, the video showed a man who is alleged to be the police chief of the station, yelling and repeatedly slapping and pulling a man's hair in an unspecified public place.
