General services assistant is stabbed to death by her ex-partner in Mãe do Rio

Witnesses reported to the Military Police that the suspect did not accept the end of the relationship with the victim

Francisca Plácito do Amaral, 33 years old, was stabbed to death by her ex-partner, Márcio Mendes da Silva, in the early hours of this Thursday (2), in the Santa Ana do Piripindeua community, in the rural area of ​​Mãe do Rio, northeast of Pará A neighbor of the victim, who tried to defend her, was injured. The police managed to arrest, this evening (2), the suspect in the crimes of feminicide and attempted murder.

The first surveys carried out by police authorities indicate that the man did not accept the end of the relationship with the victim, who worked as a general services assistant at Mãe do Rio City Hall.

According to the police, in addition to Francisca, her neighbor identified as Isete Chaves Bandeira, 57 years old, was stabbed by the suspect in the stomach and arms, when trying to help Francisca. While receiving care at Hospital de Mãe do Rio, Isete reported to the police that she heard Francisca's screams during the attack, around 12:40 am. Other people who presented themselves to the police as witnesses also pointed to Márcio as the perpetrator of the crimes.

Shortly after the crimes, military police from the 19th Battalion isolated the location and called the Civil and Scientific Police of Pará. The body of the 19th Battalion was analyzed and removed. The work of the Scientific Police will help the Civil Police to clarify the dynamics of what happened, as well as the exact cause of Francisca's death.

Throughout today (2), the Civil and Military police carried out searches for the suspect. According to witnesses, he had fled on a motorcycle, model Pop 100, blue. Márcio Mendes was located in the early evening, in Mãe do Rio. The vehicle he used was seized. The motorcycle was heavily covered in blood and should also be submitted for forensic examination.
