Hindu to athiest ? Hinduism is not ur western abrahmic definition of religions where it has a founder and 1 book and belief in god being the main criteria for ur materialistic "heaven".

Its a dharmic religion. Which means the main criteria for salvation here is morality, rejecting the material life. We aren't the people of the book. We are the people of morals. Morals duties are called Dharma.

Hinduism itself has many religions in it. In all of those, there are 3 paths to salvation is hindus can choose :-
1) Bhakti Yoga = Devotion in God
2) Karma Yoga = Doing good deeds
3) Gyana Yoga = Seeking knowledge

But the Karma applies to all.

So u can not even believe in God/Gods/ believe in formless/ avatars of god it doesn't matter.
Beliefs are a choice according to the life we live in Hinduism.
But the common thing is believing in universal morality.  If u need the fear of god to do good things then ur a inherently immoral guy.
So u see i m still a Hindu while being agnostic, because i believe in its moral code and karmic concept.
