The incident occurred in Vila São José, in Buíque.

In the late afternoon on a Monday, the victim a mechanic, identified as Gláucio Junior da Silva, also known as Junior Coruja, was shot dead outside his workshop on a street that gives access to Riachão, a rural region of the municipality.

He was leaving work to go home to celebrate the birthday of his daughter, a minor.

Civil police and SAMU were called to the scene, but the victim was already deceased and his body shutting down.

Witnesses who were close to the crime scene stated that two men on a motorcycle had approached the victim as he was shutting up his shop. Upon realizing that he would be attacked, the mechanic tried to flee, but was caught and shot several times. The two on the bike sped off. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.

After the forensic examination was carried out by the scientific police, the body was sent to the Legal Medical Institute (IML) for an necropsy and will be released back to the family for burial once completed.

Meanwhile, police authorities will continue to investigate the case. Thus far the perpetrators have not been found.
